Meta has just shared some crucial updates regarding its Quest VR headsets! 🎮 A “software update issue” has been bricking Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest 3S devices, but there’s good news—Meta reports that “most” users can now enjoy their virtual reality experiences normally again, and the company is actively working on a fix for all users!

This update is especially encouraging for Quest 2 and 3 owners who faced challenges with repairs or replacements due to warranty limitations. Some users on Reddit have even confirmed that Meta is providing out-of-warranty service for the issue. Additionally, a community manager on the Meta support forum announced that customer support will soon have updated guidelines to assist users better.

Meta Addresses Software Update Issues

On December 6th, Meta acknowledged software update issues affecting some new Quest 3S devices but didn’t initially mention the Quest 2 or 3 headsets. However, on December 9th, the company launched its latest update—Meta Quest v71—which introduces exciting features like an enhanced virtual desktop display connection and keyboard passthrough support in virtual environments.
